Movement or, the art of survival.

Ah, movement. Correct mastery of this is one of the bases in winning in the game. With the right techniques and knowledge of the capacity of your AC for mobility, you can gauge just how far you can push it.

Basic Manuevers

Boost hopping

No doubt many a beginner at AC has heard the term boost hopping, but also never had anyone explain to them what it is. Basically, boost hopping is a technique of usage of the boosters which enables a low consumption of energy charge while maintaining mobility.
To perform this maneuver, one has to tap the boost button quickly while moving in a direction. Once the AC has jumped up a little bit as a result of the boost, let go of the boost button, and let your AC hit the ground. Once it does, however, hit the boost button again. Do this repeatedly while moving in a direction, and you shall be boost hopping.
While boost hopping, it can be noted that the energy lost from that quick tap of the boost button is quickly regained, due to from the low amount drained from the generator. Also, because there is idle time for the boosters on the downward motion of the AC, there is time for the generator to refresh it's capacitor. Thusly, boost hopping is an effective means of maneuvering the AC around without using much energy. Also, boost hopping opens up a myriad of other mid-air tactics, such as jinking.

Feather boosting

Feather boosting is defined as using your boosters in multiple, short intermittent bursts at a time. It is more energy efficient than long sustained boosts, and it is easier to manuever your AC while in the air with this technique.
To perform this maneuver, one must rapidly tap the boost button while moving in a direction. The net effect of this is a slower ascent or descent of the AC, and is useful when falling from great heights to negate stun. Also, when done quickly enough, feather boosting can translate into a hovering effect on the AC, keeping it in place at a certain point in the air, all at a relatively low cost in charge drain. In short, proper feather boosting can allow you to gain altitude and travel long distances in the air with significantly less strain on your generator.
Its main difference from boost hopping is that feather boosting requires an even more rapid pressing of the boost button than boost hopping.

Advanced Manuevers

Overboost

The Overboost, or OB for short, is a special function of some of the cores in the game. It is a massive acceleration boost emitted from inside these cores, capable of reaching top speeds of up to 700+ kph. The downside to this great addition to speed are the heat built up and the charge drain from using the OB, which are equally greater than the usual drain received from normal boosting.
