RE: Model Kits, Armored Core and otherwise - Fox - 08-05-2011

As good as these modded units look, i kinda miss seeing custom model kits of ACs that you can actually use in-game. I guess FG's got a contest between it's members as to see who can pull off the most outrageous modifications. Sad

RE: Model Kits, Armored Core and otherwise - Int3ll3r1337 - 08-05-2011

fg does have some custom based ac kits its just that 75% of them are in the middle of being made and some honestly arent really that good. Most of the basic like oracle, bj, and nineball are completed as is and given the same paint job but just "minor" changes here and there. Since you like the in-game so much I'll give you pic of some...

Those are some nice color sets.

RE: Model Kits, Armored Core and otherwise - Serene - 08-07-2011

Second from the last's RimFire yes?

Nice colors, Nice scratch builds.

The second unit's arms were ok, but the way it was built feels off.

yes it is..only thing about it the legs are big in game but they didnt get the scale correctly

RE: Model Kits, Armored Core and otherwise - Fox - 08-11-2011

The first three ACs are all snapbuilt and are still awaiting painting. The rest are all mostly done with a couple of them having some parts that are still to be painted. Still wracking my brain for color schemes for the last two unbuilt units.

AWESOME stuff fox, haha. hope we can see some of them in good lighting :p

RE: Model Kits, Armored Core and otherwise - J.E_Magog - 08-11-2011

Are they still displayed around the walls?

Also it seems like none of the ACs is using the Dragon laser rifle even though there's a Vixen model....

Link doesn't seem to work, Doc. I think you need to be friends with the guy first before we can see his stuff. Happy

It's only quick pics this time, with the camera's flash on since i was in a bit of a rush. I'll try to get a proper pictorial done when i get back in the city. Tongue

Hahaha, nope. The wall shelves in my room are where the mobile suit models are displayed. The AC kits change places randomly depending on my mood, sometimes alternating between my bedroom and the extra room where my consoles are. Smile

About the DRAGON. It's slated to be mounted on one of the two unbuilt units, along with the extra PYTHON. Once i finalize the colors for it, that is.

RE: Model Kits, Armored Core and otherwise - McCale - 08-12-2011

Suggestion for a color scheme- hot rod blue with black detail and some violer/ metallic purple trim in places

I actually considered something like that. I only axed that idea when i realized that i already had a dark blue AC and plan to do the U2 kit in light blue/silver. What i'm now thinking for one of the remaining frames (CRICKET/GAEA/LANGUR/COUGAR2) is light purple with black and light blue trim, kinda like EVA Unit 01.

RE: Model Kits, Armored Core and otherwise - McCale - 08-13-2011

Yeah, light blue is a great color. Tamiya's TS-19 Metallic Blue is gorgeous and bright. Are you going for a matte purple or metallic/glossy? Light or dark?

RE: Model Kits, Armored Core and otherwise - Fox - 08-15-2011

Glossy probably. Can't make up my mind yet since i don't even have the parts with me.

RE: Model Kits, Armored Core and otherwise - zero_kanipan - 08-18-2011

a friend of a friend made this:
[Image: 172370_1439786094122_1817138804_836223_6460440_o.jpg]

so im thinking of experimenting with the strike freedom kit i have, and maybe some other kits i can acquire and do something similar. maybe with a figma, nendroid or revoltech figure.
anyone know what scale would look good on which figure manufacturer? specifically figure proportions. i mean, are figmas closer in size to 1/144 scale etc. of course assuming the average anime character. im at the office so i cant have my figures stand side by side. also, ive heard theres this busou shinki figure series that works well with 1/144 kits. my friend says its 3k and up tho. so yeah, too expensive for an experiment.

thanks in advance
