The early Nexus
why FROM didn't
#1
I can't get over this. Nexus is one crappy game. What if FROM went ahead with this:

FROM what you can see in those sites, I think FROM was planning something, then have it completely scrapped. Part names, stats, enemy and level designs looks different FROM the one we've got, and it may have played differently too(like SL?).

So what led to these changes? I couldn't find any info on this so I've made up some theories.

-Its just a prototype game... That Project sigma or something....
-Funding was cut short?(the game felt like it was rushed)
-Some guy in the development team had a better idea.

I've totally forgotten Nexus, though I really think it was a half finished game and they patched up the holes and made it look like a finished product. I would really like to play in that pseudo sky stage if the backgrounds were permanent though (which IIRC became the basis for NX's final level).

Sigma Project was alleged to be a hoax, though it may be a codename for NX during its development stage (Much like how Project Force turned into Kojima Core 4).

I doubt the dev team stopped working on NX half way through because of some great idea. If they thought it was a great idea, it prolly was a crappy one that lead to FF and/or NB, and From decided to milk AC by releasing NX anyway.

Also, further proof of NX being unfinished is the G-MAX head that was supposed to be a Kisaragi head part. It even had its own stats and was only accessible by loading the Revolution disk while on the garage of the Evolution disk while highlighting the QUEEN head (or was it the other way around?). I'm guessing it was supposed to be accessed by the player at some point, but somehow got canned in the end. Playing with the part equipped causes the game to crash, but I've never tried it myself.

I guess that pretty much answered my long-gone question as to why I didn't see some of the pics I had from Nexus in the actual game.

Me thinks it's choice number 3, but From suddenly had their own deadlines coming. Or that 9ballz ending in NX was just probably around mid-game, before finally going through the rest of the mission and From didn't have enough time to finish it all before deadline, resulting in removing the rest of the unfinished work.

Just a thought, but I disagree with it; maybe the remake missions were originally part of the whole NX plot and... number 3. Maybe if From had enough time (and possibly motivation and innovation) and used SL's mechanics for NX, it would've probably been one of the best AC games released.

In short, this incomplete NX would've possibly been the best AC game we never had. XD

If time constraints was the reason behind all this, maybe they would have gotten more time if they didn't work on the remakes.
